Bev's Happy Owls

It feels good to be liked!

There was a personal development weekend I went on in 2005 that actually helped me make a huge life changing decision, I arrived stressed, unhappy and totally confused about my future, I left frightened but excited that I'd made the decision to walk away from a well paid job I felt trapped in to try and be a full time Weight Watchers leader - WOW am I glad now I walked into work the next day and resigned! On that weekend we did many things, including the "50 things I love about me", I realised that even though I’m a very independent person who doesn’t mind what others think of me, I do like to be liked (I think we all do really ,don' t we?). I realised this when the group (14 of us) were asked to write a list of each other’s qualities and then we were given them to take home. I kept mine because it made me feel really good. Next time you have a night out (or night in) with your mates, try it, each of you should write ten of each other's qualities, then give them to the person you've written them about. It'll make you smile I bet...

As this is my website, I'm going to use it to keep my memories too, so this is a list of the things that those people on that weekend said about me, after only meeting me that weekend - numbers in brackets are how people wrote that quality;
